Founder & CEO of JEVAN
Dr. Alaa Youssef studied pharmacy and specialized in phyto-therapy; the art and science of using botanical remedies (medicinal plant) to prevent or treat diseases. After her bachelor study, she studied her Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) in developing & evaluation of natural hair formulations which inspired her later to create her own brand “JEVAN” in 2020.
** ”I took my first real authentic decision in my life; when I bind my PhD theoretical study with a practical life and created a real products and community service” She said. She came to the conclusion that only a holistic approach could help everyone to find the authentic self to create a real dream.**
She got influenced by many national & international programs to shape JEVAN vision & values.
My Story
In Egypt, most of the students can’t choose the major they would like to study, they can’t find a real link between their studies and their practical life, and it was also my biggest problem for about 7 years; I had struggled with my master studies as I never really find a chance to bind my theoretical study to the practical life. I wasn’t able to apply my values in my daily life and I got lost within myself, I was fighting internally about my authenticity. At that time, my question was am I presenting my true self and delivering a real message; that drives me to go back to myself and try to understand the real me, to identify my goal and to create my turning point; and here is it, on 2020 I took my first real authentic decision in my life; when I converted my PhD theoretical study into a real products and community service. I created JEVAN, a company where I applied my values in. The environment that I created to change my life and to live a happier and more fulfilling life.
JEVAN
Since the effect of beauty on success and self-confidence is a real deal, we have a vision of promoting self-love naturally as well as investing in creating natural solutions needed by all women for their confidence and realizing their full potential.
We inspire every women who struggles with low self-esteem to love herself more. It is an emotional journey where we encourage women to accept themselves and to be proud to wear their hair in its natural state.
Work Experience
Assistant lecturer at Heliopolis university in medicinal plants and phytotherapy department.
PhD degree registration in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Cairo university (2019- present).
Master’s degree in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Cairo university (2018).
NAAN Project
I was honoured to participate in NAAN project “Natural Anti-diabetic & Anti-Hypertensive Drugs” held at university of Graz, Austria. The project has involved partners from University of Graz (UniGraz), Austria, The National Institute for Chemical Pharmaceutical Research and Development (ICCF), Romania, University of Salento (UniSalento), Italy, Victor Babes National Institute of Pathology (IVB), Romania, and SEKEM Development Foundation (SDF), Egypt.
Entrepreneurs Leadership Programs
She Entrepreneurs is a leadership programme for highly motivated women entrepreneurs in the Middle East & North Africa who are building successful and sustainable businesses with the potential to make a difference in their societies.
